From the moment I set foot in the door at Arbor House in Lewisville, I knew this was the place for mom. The floorplan, pretty decor and colors of the facility is great. More importantly, it is a secure building but still gives the freedom to the residents to roam around that gives the feeling of being normal. They treat my mother with the utmost respect and dignity but more than that, they truly care about all residents. They take the time to really get to know them and their families. The Care Friends AND the office staff don’t just administer meds, feed and keep the residence safe, they go way beyond that. They are trained and educated specifically for dementia and Alzheimer patients and are actively engaged with them and the families. Arbor house gives me a piece of mind but more than that, they care for mom the way they’d care for their own mother, with lots of love and patience. I couldn’t be happier with moving mom to Arbor house. You owe it to yourself and your loved one to visit Arbor house in Lewisville. You will not be disappointed.

I want to thank you for the years of care for mother at Arbor House. I consider myself very lucky to have found Arbor House Lewisville…I lost the caregiver guilt because I knew she received good care; but Mom was actually the lucky one since she felt comfortable in her new home. It was evident that the care friends at Arbor House knew how to interact with the residents with dementia…I read trust in her eyes as care friends would work with her…Mom’s longevity led me to meet the kind, compassionate people at Arbor House. I will miss the Arbor House family–the residents and their family members, caregivers and administrators. Thanks for providing a loving, comfortable home for Mother.

I was glad to learn about Arbor House…I looked at 4 other communities closest to me The Arbor House was definitely my top choice! The most important objective to me was finding a home where my grandmother would be treated like family and cared for with love and respect. I could see that in your staff hands down compared to the other facilities I visited…You residents and their families are very lucky!

Arbor House has been a true blessing to our family. Knowing my mom is someplace safe, with people who really care, has lifted some of the weight of worry that comes with facing the heartbreaking disease of Alzheimer’s. I am grateful for the many things Arbor House does to fill the days with activities and special occasions. My mom was an incredible artist and still loves to paint when she can. She was able to find joy in watercolor painting again when Arbor House participated in the Alzheimer’s Association’s Memories in the Making Program. It was truly wonderful to see the delight and pride again on my mom’s face when we went to see her painting in the Art Gallery as part of the program. She still lights up when we talk about it. Although I wish with all of my heart that we didn’t need a place like Arbor House, it has been a blessing that my mom can call it home. I truly do appreciate everything that all of you at Arbor House do every day to make the lives of everyone living at Arbor House, and their families, better. God bless.

When Mom was new at Arbor House and I would meet family member of other residents, every one told me I would love it there. Talk about reinforcing a decision! They have proven to be right, too. I feel such relief that Mom is at Arbor House. Daily caregiving has been lifted from my shoulders and Mom is enjoying the companionship of other residents. ..Mom has emerged from isolation to interaction, no longer sleeping her days away. I truly appreciate the personal attention she gets.

I just wanted to share with you the experience I had with your facility Arbor House Lewisville and my Mom’s last few months of life. I had been caring for my Mom for the lat four and half years of her life. She suffered from Alzheimer’s. Toward the last months of her life, I personally was tired and overwhelmed with all the responsibilities caring for my Mom. While she did live with me all those years, it only took me the first few month of caring for her 24/7 to realize that I could not do this alone. During the next four years I engaged many form of care for my Mom. During the last months of her life I relied on a hospice agency and daycare centers for the help. Arbor House was one of those daycare centers. I used Arbor House pretty much toward the end of her life five days a week. I appreciated the daily staff ratios and the interaction the caregivers had with each residents. While no daycare center completely met all of our needs. I felt that Arbor House came very close. Whenever I did share a concern with your staff, I could count on having the situation handled right away. After visiting two other daycares, my only recommendation to you and your management staff would be to take good care of your caregivers and try to do small special things for them as often as possible. I know they can easily be burned out caring for those that suffer from this horrible disease. Being appreciated as a caregiver can make a difference, I know this from first hand experience. Sincerely,

Dana K. Davis
