Arbor House Waco

Arbor House of Lewisville

Memory Care

Arbor House Lewisville is an all-inclusive, secure community for residents with memory care needs. We have created an environment to support residents to maintain their dignity and independence while receiving assistance in areas they may need support, such as dressing, bathing, medications and decision making. Our Life in Motion engagement programming allows residents to find joy, purpose and connection in their everyday lives. Our caregivers, as we call “friends”, find a distinct connection with each resident that helps build relationships between the two, providing continuity and structure throughout the day. Whether it be enjoying snacks in the ice cream parlor, or helping bake a cake, enjoying the birds in the Aviary, or taking a walk in the secured courtyard, the residents of Arbor House are engaged with their “friends” and enjoy a more purpose-filled day!

Arbor House Lewisville holds a special Certification for Alzheimer’s Care. Residents enjoy a home-like living space that offers a kitchen area available to residents 24 hours a day, a neighborhood or individual house dining area, a living room where many engagements occur, a quieter family area that has a TV, private bedrooms and courtyards which are available for our residents enjoyment anytime they like. The community is comprised of 4 such houses, providing the smaller spaces as recommended in studies on proper environment for successful dementia living while giving ample community spaces for walks and larger engagement groups. Assistance with personal care needs and 24-hour care is provided in our uniquely caring environment. When space allows, Day Stay and Respite Care is also available.

From the moment I set foot in the door at Arbor House in Lewisville, I knew this was the place for mom. The floorplan, pretty decor and colors of the facility is great. More importantly, it is a secure building but still gives the freedom to the residents to roam around that gives the feeling of being normal. They treat my mother with the utmost respect and dignity but more than that, they truly care about all residents. They take the time to really get to know them and their families. The Care Friends AND the office staff don’t just administer meds, feed and keep the residence safe, they go way beyond that. They are trained and educated specifically for dementia and Alzheimer patients and are actively engaged with them and the families. Arbor house gives me a piece of mind but more than that, they care for mom the way they’d care for their own mother, with lots of love and patience. I couldn’t be happier with moving mom to Arbor house. You owe it to yourself and your loved one to visit Arbor house in Lewisville. You will not be disappointed.

I want to thank you for the years of care for mother at Arbor House. I consider myself very lucky to have found Arbor House Lewisville…I lost the caregiver guilt because I knew she received good care; but Mom was actually the lucky one since she felt comfortable in her new home. It was evident that the care friends at Arbor House knew how to interact with the residents with dementia…I read trust in her eyes as care friends would work with her…Mom’s longevity led me to meet the kind, compassionate people at Arbor House. I will miss the Arbor House family–the residents and their family members, caregivers and administrators. Thanks for providing a loving, comfortable home for Mother.

I was glad to learn about Arbor House…I looked at 4 other communities closest to me The Arbor House was definitely my top choice! The most important objective to me was finding a home where my grandmother would be treated like family and cared for with love and respect. I could see that in your staff hands down compared to the other facilities I visited…You residents and their families are very lucky!

Arbor House has been a true blessing to our family. Knowing my mom is someplace safe, with people who really care, has lifted some of the weight of worry that comes with facing the heartbreaking disease of Alzheimer’s. I am grateful for the many things Arbor House does to fill the days with activities and special occasions. My mom was an incredible artist and still loves to paint when she can. She was able to find joy in watercolor painting again when Arbor House participated in the Alzheimer’s Association’s Memories in the Making Program. It was truly wonderful to see the delight and pride again on my mom’s face when we went to see her painting in the Art Gallery as part of the program. She still lights up when we talk about it. Although I wish with all of my heart that we didn’t need a place like Arbor House, it has been a blessing that my mom can call it home. I truly do appreciate everything that all of you at Arbor House do every day to make the lives of everyone living at Arbor House, and their families, better. God bless.

When Mom was new at Arbor House and I would meet family member of other residents, every one told me I would love it there. Talk about reinforcing a decision! They have proven to be right, too. I feel such relief that Mom is at Arbor House. Daily caregiving has been lifted from my shoulders and Mom is enjoying the companionship of other residents. ..Mom has emerged from isolation to interaction, no longer sleeping her days away. I truly appreciate the personal attention she gets.
