Jean Riley
Regional Nurse South Texas

Jean’s Story

I grew up with my grandparents, Mom and many aunts and uncles who were my life teachers – the “wisdom-keepers” of the family. They counseled me and taught me the values of respect for elders, saving for a rainy day, patience and to always be open to different cultures, religions and beliefs.

It was that upbringing that has made me a better nurse – one that values each individual and their life story. For years I was employed in administrative positions in acute care facilities, but it is Arbor House that has provided me the opportunity to put my family and nursing values to work with our very special residents. I love the chance to learn about the resident and their life story and to see our mission accomplished through our care friends and managers. At Arbor House we always put the residents’ interest first – a value, I not only practice but honor.
